Hey everyone! This was the home page for my very first stable site. I love the medicine hat story and decided to do something a little different than the normal. Instead of posting new pics and info....I wanted to post old pics and info. And for those of you who didn't know the horse that started it all for Color The Wind...CTWS Cherokee Wind is the medicine hat in the pictures along with the story.
Welcome to our stables!
We raise Paints of all colors and are hoping to specialize in the Medicine Hat. We use the Natural Techniques of the Indians to train our horses with. We believe a strong bond and a slight hand make for the best trained horse.
When you own one of our medicine hats, you will find that you have found your eternity horse.
Every Indian warrior had a main horse (an eternity horse) that received special attention and care. The most prized of these were medicine hat paints, because it was believed that they had magical powers that made their rider invincible in combat. Death is inevitable. Indians believe that a warrior who does not die at night or is not scalped after death, goes to the land beyond the sun. There his spirit is joined by the spirit of his main, or eternity horse. They ride together, neither feeling pain, fatigue, hunger or thirst for all eternity.
Each of our horses are shown love and bonded with from birth.
If the warrior has not been noble or just, his eternity mount will be a short pasterned rough ride. This is the Indians version of hell, since there is no dismount in the land beyond the sun. They believe that the sky is a symbolic river that separates earth from the land beyond the sun.
Please feel free to check out our horses. We do occasionally have foals for sale so make sure to check back often.
If the warrior has an eternity woman, his spirit waits on the far bank of this river until he sees th eternity woman’s spirit on the other bank. The warrior then rides across the river but doesn’t leave it. The eternity woman’s spirit wades a few steps into the river, the warrior brings her up behind him, the spirits of horse, woman and warrior cross back into the land beyond the sun, and ride forever as one.
